Not fond of this one at all

This is my first time buying oils from The Olive Tap and I bought 3 different kinds. Reportedly, Olio Nuovo is supposed to be one of The Olive Tap's most favorite oils. I was told it's one of the first to be sold out every year.

Well, I'm sorry to say that it's probably the worst tasting (and looking) EVOO that I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot. Before I ordered it, I noticed that it was an "unfiltered" oil and so it still has healthy remnants still in it that filtered oils don't. I thought that sounded fine and ordered it without hesitation. I figured it would be the healthiest of all the EVOOs I've tried, with the most polyphenols, and that's exactly what I was after.

Unfortunately, I don't know if it being unfiltered is responsible for my dislike of it, or what exactly, but one thing is for sure, I won't be buying it again. When pouring it out for the first time it has a noticeably cloudy appearance, and the taste was more like a bad oil than it was one of the best EVOOs you can get.

I don't know how the Olio Nuovo could be everyone's favorite, but I'll be staying with the filtered EVOOs. I also bought 2 other kinds of Olive Tap oil, so I'm hoping I'll have better things to report after I try them.

    FRESH!

I knew I was in for a treat when I poured the oil into a white bowl and the color was a deep dark green. Amazing. I'm very fond of fruity, peppery oils so I had high hopes for this one. Can't get any fresher than this oil. It tasted fresh, grassy, herbally with a whiff of fruitiness. It had a little bit of bite to it, but not as much as I was expecting. But that didn't detract from this delicious oil. Highly recommend.
